Nebraska-Kearney was 22 of 26 from the free throw line in the second half to break open what had been a close game at halftime and defeat the Chadron State women's basketball team 72-46 on Saturday night in Kearney.
Kearney led by just 27-24 before the Antelopes outscored CSC 45-22 in the second half. The Eagles hurt their cause by committing 29 turnovers against the UNK pressure defense.
The Antelopes finished at 34-43 at the free throw line while CSC was 13-21. Three Eagles fouled out and three more picked up four fouls.
Liz Fischer, a 5-7 junior, led the Antelopes with 17 points. Freshman Jonni Mildenberger added 14.
CSC was led by freshman Krisha Sibrel with 12 and senior Bec Kyba with 11.
Kearney improved to 13-4 while CSC falls to 2-15. The Eagles will play at Colorado Christian and Colorado Mines this weekend.
