CHADRON – The Chadron State College softball team will open its Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference schedule this weekend when it plays at Colorado State University-Pueblo Friday and Saturday.
The two teams will play two doubleheaders, beginning Friday at 1 p.m. The final two game series will be Satuirday, beginning at noon.
The Eagles opened their 2013 season at the Las Vegas Desert Stinger hosted by Montana State University-Billings Feb. 8-10 and went 1-4, despite outscoring their opponents 26-23 during the five game stretch.
CSU-Pueblo played five games at a tournament in San Angelo, Texas, and compiled a 3-2 record.
The ThunderWolves have four players with a batting average of at least .400. Sophomore hurdler Kelli Henry is their top pitcher with a 2-0 record and an ERA of 2.23.
Following this weekend's series with Pueblo, Chadron State will host the University of Colorado-Colorado Springs Saturday, March 2 and Sunday, March 3 in Chadron.
