Box Score 2 LAKEWOOD, Colo. – The Colorado Christian Cougars swept the Chadron State Eagles in a Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference double-header Friday in Lakewood, Colo.
Chadron State (9-9) struggled offensively, managing seven runs on 16 total hits in the two games.
Chadron State had a 3-2 lead in the third inning of the first game, but couldn't muster additional runs until the top of the seventh inning after trailing 7-3.
The Eagles scored two runs in the seventh to make things interesting, but a comeback fell short as the Cougars held on 7-5.
In game two,
Rebecca Wetsch tied things up at 2-2 all with an RBI single in the third inning. After that, though, the Chadron State bats went cold and the Cougars scored six unanswered runs en route to its 6-2 victory.
Wetsch and
Rebekah Anthony led the Eagles with three hits apiece on the day.
Another double-header against the Cougars is scheduled to begin at noon Saturday.
