Mavericks halt Eagles

Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. - The Chadron State softball team ended its season Sunday afternoon against Colorado Mesa University in a Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference softball clash.
 
The Eagles, who were fighting for a berth in the RMAC playoffs, fell to the Mavericks, 7-0 and 2-1. Western New Mexico, which split its weekend series with Adams State jumped the Eagles in the standings and secured the eighth and final playoff spot.
 
The Eagles struggled to get the bats going in the first game, finishing with just four hits in the contest.
 
The second game was a pitching dual but the Mavericks came back to score two runs in the seventh inning to top the Eagles.
 
Katie Londo finished the game with three hits and drove in Chadron State's only run.
 
Kylee Polsley pitched 6 1/3 strong innings for the Eagles, allowing two runs and six hits.
 
The Eagles finish the season with a 14-24 record, including a 12-19 mark in the RMAC.
