CHADRON - After going 1-4 while playing in the Desert Stinger hosted by Montana State University-Billings in Las Vegas last weekend, the Chadron State College softball team travels to Austin, Texas to play five more games hosted by St. Edwards University this weekend.
Chadron State beat Simon Fraser University, but fell to Central Washington University, Azusa Pacific University, California Baptist University and St. Mary's University last weekend.
The Eagles open round-robin play on Friday as they match up with St. Edwards University and No. 8 Texas Woman's University. Chadron State will meet St. Edwards University once more on Saturday before wrapping up the weekend against Texas A&M International University and Texas Woman's University on Sunday.
St. Edwards is 6-4 and went 3-2 playing in a tournament hosted by the University of Alabama-Huntsville last weekend.
Texas Woman's University is 7-3 overall and went 4-1 at the Desert Stinger, dropping its only game to Adams State University.
Texas A&M International is 5-5 and handed Texas Woman's University one of its three losses at the St. Mary's Division II Invitational.
The Eagles open their home schedule Feb. 22-23 by playing Colorado Mines and the University of Colorado-Colorado Springs.
