Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 AUSTIN, Texas – The Chadron State College softball team went 1-1 during the final day of the St. Edward's Invitational Sunday in Austin, Texas.
 
In the first game, Katelyn Kruger roped a single down the right side line that scored Rebecca Wetsch in the bottom of the eighth to give the Eagles a come-from-behind 3-2 victory over Texas A&M International. In the Eagles' final game, No. 14-ranked Texas Woman's University scored three runs in the first inning and kept its offense rolling to earn a 9-0 win in five innings.

Following the tournament, Chadron State's Rebekah Anthony was placed on the all-tourney team. She hit .385 in five games and scored two runs. She also had two sacrifice bunts and seven infield assists.
 
Against A&M International, the Eagles, now 3-7, trailed 2-0 but tied the game in the sixth inning by scoring two unearned runs. Jessica Eatmon reached after an error to lead off the inning and the bases were loaded once Rebecca Wetsch and Katelyn Kruger ripped singles. Zoe Humphries then drew a walk to knock in Eatmon and Shea Graham tied things up after hitting a sacrifice fly to center field that allowed Wetsch to score.
 
Both CSC and A&M International (7-7) failed to score in the seventh inning and Eagles' pitcher Aryn Grywusiewicz retired the side in order in the eighth inning after a runner was placed on second base because of the international tiebreak rule.
 
The Eagles, who also won in eight innings Saturday, led off the eighth with Eatmon at second. Katie Londo laid down a sacrifice bunt to move her to third and Kruger, who went 3-for-4 with three singles, followed with the game-winning hit.
 
Grywusiewicz, who pitched out of several jams early in the game, earned the victory – her first of the season. She pitched around five walks and struck out four, while scattering six hits.
 
Chadron State had eight hits as a team. Wetsch and Courtney Lecher each had two singles and Rebekah Anthony added a hit.
 
Against Texas Woman's University, two Eagles recorded hits when Humphries and Sarah Knudsen both notched singles.
 
Chadron State will open its Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference schedule Saturday with a three-team pod with Colorado School of Mines and University of Colorado-Colorado Springs. The three teams will each play one another twice during the weekend.
