CHADRON – The Chadron State College softball team will host Western New Mexico in a Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference four-game series Saturday and Sunday.
Saturday's doubleheader beings at noon and Sunday's games start at 11 a.m.
Western New Mexico enters this weekend with a 9-24 record and has four regular hitters above .300.
At the plate, Kale Gahn leads the Mustangs with a .352 average and chalked up four homers this season. Gahn is followed by Ricki Gentry (.344), Mariah McDonald (.324) and Mary Othon (.319).
In the circle, Domi Shone brings 50 strike outs.
Taylor Bauer and
Courtney Lecher are enjoying strong freshmen campaigns. Bauer currently leads the Eagles with a .357 batting average and Lecher is second with a .333. Lecher leads the team in hits with 20. Both freshmen have charted three homeruns.
Katie Londo has also been a key player for Chadron State. She has racked up 19 hits and eight homers.
On the mound,
Kylee Polsley pitches a 3.40 ERA and has seven of the Eagles' 11 wins.
