Eagles bust Yellow Jackets

Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 SPEARFISH, S.D.– Chadron State's Sarah Knudsen and Taylor Bauer scored two runs apiece to lead the Eagles to a 10-2 victory over Black Hill State Friday.
 
Six other Chadron State players scored runs before the game ended in the fifth inning by the eight-run rule. Those players were Courtney Lecher, Rebecca Wetsch, Morgan Wilhelm, Casey Polk, Caroline Johnson, and Shea Graham.
 
The Eagles jumped on top 3-0 in second inning, but the Jacket's Eckhardt responded with a two-run home run in the bottom of the second. However, those would be the only Black Hills State runs scored for the remainder of the game.
 
In the circle, senior Kylee Polsley threw a complete game striking out six and allowing just four hits.
 
Chadron State played Colorado Mesa in the second game of the day where the Mavericks capitalized on a couple of untimely Eagle errors to take the 3-1 victory over Chadron State.
 
Colorado Mesa scored took a 1-0 lead in the first inning and added another run in the second after Nicole Robinson reached first on an error.
 
Lecher led off for the Eagles in the third inning responding with a homer to centerfield, but that was not enough to take the lead.
 
The Mavericks tallied their third run in the fourth as Mariaha O'dell scored an unearned run.
 
Aryn Grywusiewicz pitched a complete game striking out one and allowed seven hits.
 
The Eagles play Colorado Mesa tomorrow at 1 p.m. followed by a 3 p.m. game against Black Hills State.
