Box Score 2 PUEBLO, Colo. – The Chadron State College softball team split two games in a Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference doubleheader vs. RMAC-leading Colorado State University-Pueblo Saturday afternoon.
In the opener, the Eagles (15-17 overall, 12-8, RMAC) slammed two homers in the fifth inning to come out ahead 6-1. The ThunderWolves (17-14 overall, 14-6 RMAC) responded offensively in the second game when they scored six runs in the first two innings and added four more runs in the sixth to secure their 10-3 victory.
Chadron State and CSU-Pueblo play two more games Sunday at 11 a.m. and 1 p.m.
Senior
Kylee Polsley continued her solid season against CSU-Pueblo in game one. She executed a complete-game effort inside the circle for the Eagles as she scattered four hits and striking out four.
Chadron State registered seven hits for the game including two home runs.
Katie Londo tied the game at 1-1 with her homer in the fifth. In the same inning,
Taylor Bauer busted a three-run home run.
Rebecca Wetsch scored the Eagle's final run in the sixth inning.
In game two, CSU-Pueblo outhit Chadron State 18-6 and the ThunderWolves came out hot to score six of 10 runs in the first two innings. The Eagles rallied in the fourth and fifth innings when Wetsch,
Caroline Johnson and
Sarah Knudsen scored after a trio of doubles.
CSU-Pueblo capitalized on an untimely Chadron State error to score four runs in the sixth, to seal its win.
