CHADRON – Chadron State College softball team will host a Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference series against Colorado Christian University this weekend. First pitch for Saturday's doubleheader is set for noon and 11 a.m. Sunday.
The Eagles' (4-20, 4-8 RMAC) offense is led by
Casey Polk,
Zoe Humphries,
Courtney Lecher and
Katelyn Kruger. Polk leads Chadron State offensively with a .419 batting average and is second on the team with 26 hits and 15 RBIs. Lecher has a team-high 27 hits and is one of three Eagles with six doubles. Humphries has a .352 batting average, six doubles and a team-high six home runs. Kruger rounds out the group leading the team in RBIs with 16, along with having three home runs.
Defensively, the CSC infield has combined for seven double plays, four of which Lecher and Kruger have performed. Humphries has thrown out four runners, and
Shea Graham leads the Eagles with an unblemished fielding percentage in right field.
Pitcher
Tayler Hall has all four of the wins for CSC. She continues to lower her ERA and has averaged over seven strikeouts per game in her last four starts.
CCU's Jessica Romine leads the team with a .461 batting average, hits with 35, doubles with seven, triples with two and has a pair of home runs. Sarah Rasmussen has a team-high five home runs and 18 RBIs.
The Cougars (8-14, 5-5 RMAC) have a strong pitching crew led by Tana Feiner. Feiner has a 3.49 ERA and six wins. The team as a whole has a 4.7 ERA, but opposing pitchers have an ERA of 4.78.
