CHADRON – The Chadron State College softball team travels to Colorado Springs this weekend to play a series against Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference foe University of Colorado Colorado Springs. The Eagles will play at noon and 2 p.m. Saturday and 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. of Sunday.

Freshman
Aspen Eubanks has emerged as the Eagles' leading hitter halfway through the season with a .404 batting average. She had a batting average of .600 in last weekend's series against Colorado Christian and has driven in 16 runs.

Also for the Eagles (6-22, 6-10 RMAC), senior
Casey Polk is leading the team in RBIs with 19, batting .397 with 29 hits. Shortstop
Courtney Lecher is hitting .359, with a team-high 33 hits. Catcher
Zoe Humphries has six home runs to pace CSC.

Tayler Hall has become the ace for Chadron State. The junior from Windsor, Colorado, has just over a 5.00 ERA and is averaging almost 4.5 strikeouts per appearance. Hall is second in the conference with 77 total strikeouts. She has three wins in her last four appearances.

The University of Colorado Colorado Springs (11-12, 9-9 RMAC) is led by Dani Fonseca's all-around play. Fonseca is second on the team with a .410 batting average and 24 RBIs. She has a team-high eight home runs, tied for most in the RMAC. The sophomore also has a 5.21 ERA, while striking out 23 batters in nine appearances.

Also for UCCS, Emily Jennings is hitting .417, while Nikki Hoffman leads the conference in doubles with 14.

The Mountain Lions' ace in the circle is Stephanie Chitkowski. The sophomore has a season ERA of 4.25. She has 49 strike outs in 51 innings for UCCS.
