Box Score 2 COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – The Chadron State College softball team smashed three home runs in the top of the seventh inning to beat the University of Colorado Colorado Springs, 6-2, in a Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference match up.

Chadron State (8-24, 8-12 RMAC) struggled hitting through the first four innings of game one, trailing the University of Colorado Colorado Springs (13-14, 11-11 RMAC) 1-0 through five innings. The Eagles had just two hits in the game before
Zoe Humphries slammed a two-run home run to take the lead, 2-1. UCCS tied the game in the bottom of the sixth off of an unearned run drove in by RMAC home run leader Dani Fonseca.

In the top of the seventh,
Shea Graham led off with a solo home run to left field to retake the lead, 3-2. The next batter,
Taylor Bauer, smashed her third home run of the series to advance the lead to 4-2. Following two quick groundouts to first base,
Casey Polk hit a two-run home run to take the final lead, 6-2.

Tayler Hall, who struck out eight batters and allowed just one earned run, struck out two batters in the bottom of the seventh to secure her eighth win of the season.

In the second game of the day, the Eagles fell to the Mountain Lions in a 14-11 shootout. The game featured eight home runs, four by each team. Humphries drove in three runs on two home runs, while
Katelyn Kruger hit her fourth home run of the series.

Chadron State College hosts Regis University Friday at noon and 2 p.m., and again Saturday at 11 a.m. and 1 p.m.
