CHADRON, Neb. -- November 21, 2016 -- Two men's basketball teams hungry for a victory will match up at 6 p.m. Tuesday (Nov. 22) when the Chadron State Eagles host Montana State-Billings in the Chicoine Center.
The teams are 6-6 in their all-time series. They haven't played one another since early in the 2011-12 season.
The Eagles went 0-2 while opening the current season last week. They were edged 78-77 by the Bellevue Bruins on the road and fell to the hot-shooting Northern State Wolves 94-74 at home.
Billings is 1-3 so far. The Yellowjackets opened with a trip to California Nov. 11 and 12. They lost 101-86 to Cal Baptist in Riverside before topping Holy Names College in Oakland 88-80.

The Eagles have been streaky in their first two games. They led Bellevue 40-29 with three minutes left in the first half, but were ahead by only 43-41 at halftime. After the Bruins built a 68-55 cushion with 7 ½ minutes left in the second half, Chadron State cut the difference to a single point on
Warren Gordon's seventh 3-pointer at the buzzer.
Northern State led by just 22-21 midway in the first half, but the Eagles missed their next seven field goal tries and had five turnovers before scoring again and trailed 44-29 at halftime.
Undaunted, the Eagles took a 51-50 lead just over five minutes into the second half, but the Wolves sank 13 of their 18 field goal shots the rest of the way en route to the victory.
Northern shot 63 percent and Chadron State 48 from the field for the game.
Gordon has tallied 46 points in the two contests.
