CHADRON, Neb. -- March 18, 2016 -- Chadron State College softball (15-13-1, 9-7 RMAC) will play its next-to-last series on the road this weekend, as they travel to Alamosa, Colorado, for a four-game weekend at Adams State University (11-17, 9-7 RMAC).
The Eagles' top two pitchers,
Tayler Hall and
Cierra Cosslett, are both holding opposing batters under .300 hitting for the season, with Hall's opposing batting average at .258, and Cosslett allowing only .285.
CSC is batting .311 to this point in the season, with
Courtney Lecher leading the team at .406 individually. Over the last 14 games, she has hit at a .442 clip with four walks and two sacrifice bunts, and she has a .482 on-base percentage over the same span.
Kayla Michel has emerged as a solid power hitter, batting .385 on the season with team-high .769 slugging percentage. Over the past nine contests, Michel has gone 12-for-22 (.545) at the plate with five walks, one double, and six home runs.

The Grizzlies started the season 4-16, but have rebounded to win seven of their last eight, including two-game sweeps versus Black Hills State and at Colorado Mines.
ASU runs three-deep in their starting rotation at pitcher. The ace on the staff is Lauren Murphy, who owns a 4.01 earned run average and an opposing batting average of .245.
Marissa Harmon leads the Grizzlies in batting, with a team-high average of .371, with a squad-best 10 extra base hits. Gabrielle Griego is the RBI leader with 18, and has seven home runs.
Adams State allows just over one unearned run per game, at 1.1. Meanwhile, Chadron State allows the fewest unearned runs in the league, with just 0.6.
Games will start at noon on Saturday, and 11 a.m. on Sunday.
