COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. — February 11, 2017 — The Colorado-Colorado Springs women led by just 36-32 at halftime here Saturday night, but sank 20 of 40 shots for the field and 10 of 11 free throws in the second half to break things wide open and defeat Chadron State 90-49 in a Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference contest.
While the Lady Mountain Lions were hot in the second half, the Eagles shot just 22.2 percent from the field and was only three of four from the line in the final 20 minutes.
Senior guard Jen Vigil sank six of ten 3-point shots while leading Colorado Springs with 18 points. Tori Fisher added 13 and both Jennah Knafelc and Brittany Hernandez 11. Hernandez scored eight points and also grabbed eight of her a game-high 13 rebounds in the fourth quarter, when the Mountain Lions outscored CSC 33-7.
Erin Graham led the Chadron State with a game-high 19 points, 14 of them in the first half. Both
Kalli Feddersen and Letty Rodriguez contributed 10 points, but the remaining Eagles totaled just 10.
Colorado Springs is not 18-7 overall and 15-4 in the RMAC. The Eagles are 6-16 and 6-13. They will return to Colorado to play the Regis Rangers in Denver on Tuesday night.
