Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 ST.GEORGE, Utah -- February 7, 2019 -- The Chadron State College softball team narrowly missed a sweep on day one of the Dixie State Softball Courtyard Classic in St. George, Utah on Thursday.

The team fought eight innings in its first game against Northwest Nazarene University, who had just finished dispatching CSC's Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference rival CSU-Pueblo 9-0 in an earlier game. However the Nighthawks were able to pull out the extra-inning win, by a 7-6 margin.

The Eagles came back to win in their second game of the day, topping Cal State-East Bay 13-10. The loss was the season opener for the Pioneers.

No statistics or scoring summary were available immediately following either game.

Chadron State is now 2-5 overall on the season.
