COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. -- November 2, 2021 -- Chadron State College senior defensive back Ju'Wan Murphy, of West Fresno, California, was named on Monday to the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Football All-Academic First Team, in a release at RMACSports.org. 

Murphy was 1 of 21 CSC players who qualified for the award. The other 20 were placed on the RMAC's academic honor roll, by virtue of their 3.3 or better cumulative grade point averages and having been enrolled for a full calendar year.

The first team was selected by a vote of the league's 10 sports information directors covering football.

Murphy has started all nine games for the Eagles this season, as well as all four in 2020, and the opening game of 2019, before a season-ending injury occurred. This season he has 18 total tackles, 13 of which are solo, and two pass breakups plus an interception deep in CSC territory, last Saturday at Colorado School of Mines, to stop a scoring opportunity.

The 2021 RMAC Academic Players of the Year were Colorado School of Mines' John Matocha, for offense, and Nolan Reeve, for defense.
