RAPID CITY, S.D. -- Kinsey Poulson led CSC with a second-place finish in the women's 6k run at the Hardrocker Classic in Rapid City, South Dakota on Saturday.
Four different Eagles finished in the top ten for the women's team. Only five individuals ran on the men's side, led by
Trevor Eisenbraun who finished in 18
th place.
Poulson, a freshman from Commerce City, Colorado, was six seconds behind first place, finishing in 24:59.24.
Izabella Miller, a freshman from Johnstown, Colorado, crossed the finish line next for CSC, placing fourth in 26:10.33.
Tukker Romey and
Zelma Rudd rounded out the Eagles who placed in the top ten. Romey, a junior from Gering, Nebraska and Rudd, a freshman from Cody, Wyoming, placed sixth and ninth, respectively. Romey crossed the finish line in 26:18.47 while Rudd did in 26:54.66.
Breanna Meats,
Ivy Hise and
Kayla Jordan rounded out the group of runners from Chadron State in the women's competition. Meats, a sophomore from Craig, Colorado, ran the race in 27:26.86, placing her 12
th. Hise, a freshman from Rapid City, was one spot behind, finishing in 27:30.75. Jordan, a freshman from Clark, South Dakota, placed 15
th after crossing the finish line in 28:34.49.
Eisenbraun, a junior from Norfolk, Nebraska, led the CSC men in the 8k run, crossing the finish line in 29:00.58.
Adam Beard, a freshman from Berthoud, Colorado ran the 8k in 29:17.62, placing him 19
th.
The next two runners to finish for CSC were
Hunter Lund and
Franklin Johns. Lund, a freshman from Scottsbluff and Johns, a freshman from Gordon, finished in 21
st and 22
nd place, respectively. Lund crossed the finish line in 29:42.00 while Johns finished in 29:50.04.
Daylon Weekly, a sophomore from North Platte, finished in 31:51.62, good enough for 26
th place.
The D2 South Central Regional Championships in Lubbock, Texas are next on the schedule for CSC Cross Country. Both teams will run on November 4.
