LAKEWOOD, Colo. -- May 4, 2023 -- The Chadron State College softball team is in Lakewood, Colorado today for their first RMAC Tournament game since 2018, when they face the Regis Rangers at 11:30 am.

On April 1st, CSC had an overall record of 11-20 and an RMAC record of 9-15. In the month of April, the Eagles finished 16-4 with two complete series sweeps, one being a shutout, helping them earn the playoff berth.

Chadron States record is currently 27-24 overall and 25-19 in the RMAC. Their first opponent of the tournament, Regis, is 31-23 overall and 28-16 in conference play.

The Eagles earned the sixth and final seed in the tournament. The hosts, Colorado Christian, are the one seed while MSU-Denver is the second seed, Regis is the third and Colorado Mesa and Colorado School of Mines earned the fourth and fifth seeds, respectively.

Joining seven Eagles on the All-RMAC teams are six Rangers.

At third base, Miia Campos was named to the first team. On the second team, Kylie Harpman found a spot at pitcher, Rachels Williams was named the second team catcher and Jessi Case is at shortstop.

One Ranger player was named to the honorable mention team.

The Eagles enter this weekend being led by
Lauren Zimmerman with a .393 batting average.
Â
Zimmerman, a sophomore from Reno, Nevada, is tied for first on the team with 10 doubles this season and is first in RBIs with 42.

After having a perfect offensive series last weekend,
Sloane Quijas is second with a batting average of .374 for CSC. Quijas, a senior from Erie, Colorado, was named the Week 13 RMAC Player of the Week.

The conference gold glove selection at shortstop,
Bailey Steinke, leads the Eagles in multiple statistical categories.

Steinke, a senior from Lakewood, Colorado, leads the team in runs, hits, triples and walks drawn.
Â
Defensively, CSC two starting pitchers,
Tori Haug and
Delaney Farnsworth, both earned All-RMAC honors.
Â
Haug, a junior from Commerce City, Colorado, has won her previous five starts while being named Honorable Mention.
Â
Farnsworth was named to the second team after having the sixth best ERA in the conference.

This season, Chadron State softball has set multiple records.
Â
The Eagles produced their first shutout series in school history against Adams State. Over the four games,
Mackenzi Kroll, a junior from Brighton, Colorado, hit five home runs for a new school record.
Â
J'Lyssa Martinez, a sophomore from Denver, hit the first inside the park homerun on Chadron's softball field and later blasted a three-run homer, becoming the first player to hit an inside the park and outside the park homer in the same game in school history.
Â
As a team, the Eagles had eight stolen bases in one game during the series, also a school record.
Â
Quijas set another school record when she finished with a batting average of 1.000 last weekend.
