CHADRON, Neb. – Out of concern for inclement weather forecasts in the area, the Chadron State College softball team has moved up its four-game series against the Regis Rangers to Friday and Saturday.
The Eagles, originally scheduled to play the Rangers on Saturday and Sunday, will now face Regis in Chadron on Friday and Saturday, Mar. 22-23. Doubleheader game times will move to 1 and 3 p.m. on Friday followed by 11:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. on Saturday.
Chadron State currently sits at 5-21 overall and 5-11 in Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference action. The Rangers are 15-13 overall and 11-7 in the RMAC, ranking them fourth.
Regis began conference play by sweeping CSU-Pueblo and Adams State before being swept by MSU-Denver. They split their series with Fort Lewis and went 1-1 against Colorado School of Mines last weekend.
CSC was also swept by MSU-Denver and split their series with Colorado School of Mines but fell in three of four games against CSU-Pueblo.
Offensively, the Rangers are led by Mila Campos and Rachel Barriga. Campos has a team high .409 batting average while Barriga is hitting .400.
The duo leads the Rangers in hits, doubles, triples and homeruns. Morgan Norris has a team high 29 RBIs while Olivia Wick has scored 30 runs on 29 hits.
Kylie Harpman and Ava Edwards receive the majority of pitching responsibilities, combining for 29 appearances and 22 starts. Harpman is 10-4 with an ERA of 2.85 while Edward's ERA is 3.54 with a record of 2-2.
