CHADRON,Neb. -- The Chadron State College softball team will host four games against #8 Colorado Christian this Thursday and Friday in a Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference series.

The Cougars are 29-4 overall and 21-3 in RMAC play. Chadron State stands at 5-25 overall and 5-15 in conference play.

Colorado Christian suffered a non-conference defeat to St. Mary's University of Texas in week two of the season. After winning their first 11 conference games, the Cougars dropped back-to-back games, one to Colorado Mesa and one to Colorado School of Mines. The Orediggers split their series with the Cougars 2-2.

Since those losses, Colorado Christian has swept UCCS and CSU-Pueblo. The Eagles split their series with the Mountain Lions and went 1-3 against the Thunderwolves.

Offensively, eight batters hit over .300 and three hit over .400 for CCU, led by Kenzie Middleton with an average of .436. Middleton has a team high 45 runs, 51 hits, 10 homers and 45 RBIs. Kaila Eastburn, who hits .400, leads the Cougars with 11 doubles.

Three pitchers lead the Cougars defensively. Hanna Espinoza is 8-0 with an ERA of 0.64. Kaila Eastburn is 8-1 with an ERA of 2.43 while Emma Duncan boasts an ERA of 3.04 while being 12-1 this season.

Colorado Christian is currently second in the RMAC standings behind MSU-Denver. Chadron State is currently ranked 11
th but are only four games back from a playoff berth. Â
