COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Chadron State earned two honorable mention selections with the announcement of the league's women's basketball all-conference teams on Thursday, with senior
Ashayla Powers and junior
Megan Counts both picking up a mention.
Powers, a senior from Longmont, Colorado, earns an all-conference mention for the third straight season after earning First Team All-RMAC honors in 2022-23 and second-team honors in 2023-24. In her senior season, Powers led the team in both scoring and rebounding, averaging 11.9 points and 5.6 rebounds per game.
Powers logged a .509 field goal percentage for the season, with three double-doubles and three 20-point games, including a career-high 32 in her second-to-last college game against Fort Lewis on February 27.
The senior will end her Chadron State career as the Eagles' all-time leading rebounder with 679 rebounds and in fifth place on the Eagles' all-time scoring list with 1,479 points.
Counts had a fantastic junior season, averaging 6.9 points and 4.9 rebounds per game to earn the first all-conference selection of her career. The Green River, Wyoming native earned three double-doubles on the season, including two in CSC's last three games of the year.
Counts had nine double-figure scoring performances, with all nine coming against RMAC opponents. Counts set a season high with 17 points in an overtime loss to Colorado Christian and set a career high with 12 rebounds against Westminster.
The RMAC's major awards were both repeats, with Colorado Mesa's Olivia Reed winning Player of the Year and CSU Pueblo's Alisha Little earning Defensive Player of the Year. Colorado Mesa head coach Taylor Wagner was named the RMAC's Coach of the Year after leading CMU to a regular-season championship. The league's freshman of the year was Kapiolani Anitielu of New Mexico Highlands.
