Eagles Remain 8th After Second RMAC Round

BOULDER CITY, Nev. – Chadron State maintained its position of eighth place after the second day of competition at the RMAC Women's Golf Championships at the Boulder Creek Golf Club in Nevada.

The Eagles shot 41-over 329 as a team, seven strokes higher than their round one team score, on a day where 7 of 10 competing programs had higher scores than Sunday's round and only one individual golfer shot under par. Chadron State trails seventh-place South Dakota Mines by 32 strokes and leads ninth-place Black Hills State by 26 strokes.

Freshman Allison Sanger had the day's low score for CSC, shooting 8-over-par 80 to hop three spots up the leaderboard to 43rd place. Sanger was 4-over-par on both the front nine and the back nine and stayed out of trouble, making either par or bogey on all 18 holes.

Aubree Heinsma, who shot a team-best 75 on Sunday, followed it up with an 11-over-par 83 during Monday's action. Heinsma sits in 24th on the leaderboard at 14-over-par 158 after 36 holes. For the tournament, Heinsma is a total of 1-under-par on all par-three holes (No. 2, No. 8, No. 12 and No. 17), tied for the second-lowest total in the field.

Heinsma was one of three CSC Eagles to tally a round of 83 on the day, with freshman Klara Kleinig and junior Payton Wise also carding that same score. Kleinig and Wise sit 36th at 19-over 163 and 38th at 21-over 165, respectively. Maggie Teague rounded things out with an 84 and occupies 41st place at 25-over 169.

Heinsma, Wise and Teague each finished with one birdie apiece on the day. Sanger and Kleinig had a team-high 10 pars during Monday's action, followed by Wise and Teague with nine each.

At the top of the standings, Colorado Christian has a two-stroke lead in the team standings over No. 35-ranked CSU Pueblo. Westminster is in third, five strokes back of CCU, while Fort Lewis and MSU Denver round out the top five.

In the medalist standings, Westminster's Ashley Lam continues to lead at 4-under for the tournament after an even-par round two Monday. Lam leads by three strokes over CSU Pueblo's Alyssa McMillen, while Fort Lewis's Peyton Gibby and CCU's Raya Schulz are tied for third at even-par, four strokes back.
