CHADRON, Neb. — The Eagles will begin the 2026 postseason with the RMAC Women's Golf Championship this Sunday through Tuesday in Boulder City, Nevada.
The tournament will be hosted at the Boulder Creek Golf Course, the same location as the 2025 RMAC event. Chadron State will be working to improve their eighth-place finish at last year's RMAC Championships in 2025.
The event will be 54 holes, with one 18-hole round on each of the tourney's three days. On Sunday, action will get underway at 11 a.m., with the first CSC golfer teeing off at 11:09.
Chadron is currently outside of the top 20 in the NCAA rankings, meaning they likely need to win this tournament to receive the RMAC's automatic qualifying berth to compete at NCAA Regionals taking place in Pueblo, Colorado from May 4-6.
Past, Present and Future
Senior Aubree Heinsma has had an impressive college career, doubling up on being CSC's top finisher at the RMAC Championships last season with also winning the league's top academic honor, the Summit Award. This spring, Heinsma has a stroke average of 83.7 this season and will look to finish off her RMAC career by beating her last RMAC Championship finish of 24th with a 14-over-par 158 after 36 holes.
However, a new addition, Macy Kleve has been the top scorer for CSC this season, with a stroke average of 78.7. The true freshman will go into her first RMAC championship tournament after finishing sixth at her last event with a 16-over 160. Kleve also showed promise in her earlier fall season, winning the Yellowjacket Fall Invitational tournament with a 1-over 73.
Spring Season Recap
The women have competed in four events this spring. CSC took fourth and seventh at back-to-back events in Phoenix, Arizona to start their season. In the SMSU Spring Invitational on March 9-10, the Eagles shot a season-low 628 and finished fourth of 13 programs with four Eagles finishing in the individual top 25. The Eagles went on to place 12th at the Southern Colorado Open, hosted by CSU Pueblo.
The Eagles' highest placing was at the most recent meet, the Maverick Challenge hosted by Colorado Mesa, when they placed third.
The Field
A total of ten RMAC schools will be taking the greens this weekend. The complete field includes Adams State, MSU Denver, Fort Lewis, South Dakota Mines, Colorado Christian, Colorado Mesa, Westminster, Black Hills State and CSU Pueblo.
CSU Pueblo are the likely favorites to beat at the tournament. The ThunderWolves have taken the last three RMAC Championships, rallying on the final day of last year's tournament to pass Colorado Christian. CSU Pueblo is the highest ranked team in the RMAC, going into the tournament as No. 28 overall, followed by Colorado Christian at No. 65 and Westminster at No. 68. The Griffins feature Ashley Lam, the reigning RMAC individual champion.
Chadron State is ranked No. 114 in the nation and No. 36 in the West Region. The Eagles will enter the RMAC Championships ranked seventh out of the 10 competing programs, ahead of South Dakota Mines, Black Hills State and Adams State.
