GOLDEN, Colo. -- December 2, 2016 -- The Chadron State College men's basketball team (0-5, 0-1 RMAC) gave up nine more second chance points and struggled to match the home court shooting of the No. 19 Colorado School of Mines squad (6-1, 1-0 RMAC), as the Orediggers ran out to a 78-66 win in Golden Friday night.
CSC jumped out to a 5-0 early advantage, but never led again after the home team saw a 13-0 run take control of the game.
Darius Polley tied conference Preseason Co-Player of the Year Gokul Natesan of Mines with 25 points in the contest.
The Orediggers, however got another big performance from Caleb Waitsman, who finished with 23 points and a game-high nine rebounds.
Chadron State's Bronte Corbray was 2-of-5 from three-point range to finish as the only other Eagle in double digit scoring.
Michael Johnson hit all four of his field goals and one free throw to settle for nine points.
The Eagles are back in action Saturday at Colorado Christian. Tip-off is scheduled for 7 p.m.
