GOLDEN, Colo. -- December 2, 2016 -- Colorado School of Mines (5-5, 1-0 RMAC) outshot and outrebounded the Chadron State College Eagle women's basketball team Friday night at Lockridge arena, as CSC dropped to 0-4 (0-1 RMAC) in an 81-63 loss.
It was the first Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference game of the season for both teams, and the first of CSC head women's basketball coach
Janet Raymer's career.
Chadron State led 24-22 after the first quarter.
Keren Boyce hit two of three field goals in the opening period, and
Keeley Pearce,
Kendra Baucom, and
Leticia Rodriguez each made their only field goal attempts.
Kalli Feddersen was 4-for-4 from the free throw line, as the Eagles put together their best offensive quarter of the season so far.
The progress came undonw in the second and third periods, as they hit for just 6-of-33 over the next 20 minutes, letting the early lead slip away.
The Orediggers led by as many as 27 in the second half, but eight points by
Erin Graham and five from
Kylah Collins in the last six minutes cut the margin of victory to 18 points.
Graham led the Eagles in scoring for the first time in three weeks, getting 15 points on 8-of-16 shooting.
Kalli Feddersen finished with 13.
Kendra Baucom came up with a game-high 10 rebounds - four coming on the offensive glass.
Emily Bailey of Mines led both teams with 22 points.
CSC plays again Saturday against Colorado Christian at 5 p.m. The Cougars opened up RMAC play at home on Friday, dropping a 68-63 decision to Regis University.
