CHADRON, Neb. -- February 23, 2018 -- The Chadron State College men's basketball team endured a night of shots that fell for the wrong team, with the visiting Black Hills State University team shooting nearly 60 percent, and over 55 percent from three-point range, and winning 89-60 in Chadron on Friday in Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference play.

The Yellow Jackets led from pole to pole and almost did not miss from the free throw line, going 15-for-16. 

"It's been about the last four games," said coach Houston Reed, "where in the middle of the second half, you see us hit a wall on one end or the other. It happened again tonight. As far as being in the game and being competitive, it wasn't as competitive tonight as it's been in the last few games, but I'm proud of some guys for making some plays and keeping us in it, despite all that went wrong."

There wasn't as much momentum for the Yellow Jackets as the final score would indicate, until around midway through the second half. BHSU's 60-47 lead at the 11:34 mark was not insurmountable, assuming its shooting percentage would come back down to earth, but CSC went without a field goal for 6:22 down the stretch as Black Hills pulled away with a 17-1 run.

The Yellow Jackets got 20 points from Dez Stoudamire, while Scotland native Fraser Malcolm double-doubled with 11 points and 10 rebounds. 

Junior point guard Jaisean Jackson was the only Eagle player in double digits, cashing in for 13 points.

Black Hills State goes to 15-10 (12-9 RMAC) while CSC falls to 3-24 (1-20 RMAC) with the loss.

The season finale looms tomorrow night as the Eagles' host South Dakota School of Mines & Technology, following the women's game at 5:30 p.m.
