CHADRON, Neb. -- May 22, 2023 -- Shane Collins, a junior from Bison, South Dakota has been named to the 2023 RMAC Men's Outdoor Track and Field Academic All-Conference First Team the league office announced today.
Collins, an Elementary Education major with a 4.0 GPA, was the lone Chadron State athlete to find a spot on the first team. 11 men's athletes and five female athletes earned a spot on the honor roll.
This Friday, Collins will compete in the NCAA Champions in Pueblo, Colorado in the hammer throw.
On the men's side, honor roll went to

Parker Gonser (Windsor, Colo.);
Christopher Jennings (O'Neill, Neb.);

Alec Penfield (Lusk, Wyo.);
Osiel Cano (Oshkosh, Neb.);
Kyle Shirley (Queen Creek, Ariz.);
Creighton Trembly (Longmont, Colo.); and
Harley Rhoades (Douglas, Wyo.).
Alissa Wieman (Box Elder, S.D.);
Morgan Ekwall (Yoder, Wyo.);
Devyn Thornton (Windsor, Colo.);
Lydia Peters (Sidney, Neb.); and
Carlie Collier (Dunning, Neb.); received the honor on the women's side.
Colorado School of Mines had the men's and women's Academic Athlete of the Year. Dillon Powell received the award for the men and Zoe Baker won it for the women.
