LITCHFIELD PARK, Ariz. -- Jordan Grasis shot a 69 on Friday to finish third overall and the Chadron State College women's golf team finished third in the team standings with a 627 (+51) at the SMSU Challenge in Litchfield Park, Arizona.

As a team, CSC fired a 324 (+36) on day one before improving by 21 strokes with a 303 (+15) on day two to finish 51 strokes over par, placing them third. Minnesota State shot +43 overall to finish first in the field of 12 teams.

Grasis, a senior from Yuma, Arizona, knocked 13 strokes off on Friday to tie her own school record with a 69 (-3). At the Yellowjacket Fall Invitational in Billings, Montana in October, Grasis initially set the school record for lowest individual round with a 69 (-3).

After shooting an 82 (+10) on Thursday, Grasis's record round led her to a third-place overall finish with a 151 (+7). Anna Cihak from Minnesota State and Cassidy Phelan from Colorado Mesa tied for first with a 149 (+5).

During Thursday's round one, Grasis had six bogeys, three double-bogeys and two birdies. Her scorecard looked much prettier during round two, having one double-bogey, three bogeys, six birdies and one eagle.

Two other Eagles joined Grasis in the top ten to help the team earn a third-place finish.
Kinsey Smith finished tied 7
th with a 154 (+10) and
Brooke Kramer shot a 155 (+11) to tie for ninth.

Smith, a senior form Windsor, Colorado, had 13 pars on her scorecard with one birdie and four bogeys during round one, finishing +3 (75) overall. During round two she shot +7 (79), recording one birdie and eight bogeys.

A senior from Aurora, Colorado, Kramer shot +6 (78) before firing a 77 (+5) during round two. In round one she had three birdies, seven bogeys and one double-bogey. Kramer had six bogeys, one double-bogey and three birdies in her +5 round two.

The next golfer to score for the team was
Allison Acosta. Acosta, a senior from Oro Valley, Arizona, finished tied 37
th with a 167 (+23).

The Eagles remaining golfers were
Payton Wise,
Aubree Heinsma and
Kenzey Kanno. Wise, a sophomore from Kimball, Nebraska finished 44
th with a 171 (+27).

Despite competing as individuals, Kanno and Heinsma both found success for themselves. Kanno, a senior from Mitchell, Nebraska, finished tied ninth with Kramer after shooting a 155 (+11).

Finishing tied for 19
th place was Heinsma, a sophomore from Windsor, Colorado. Heinsma shot a 159 (+15), firing an 80 on Thursday and a 79 on Friday in the field of 77 golfers.

The Eagles are back in action on March 24 and 25 when they enter the Southern Colorado Open hosted by CSU-Pueblo.
