Holscher was a tremendous leader for the CSC wrestling team and was known for his unmatched work ethic. Coach Scott Ritzen often had to remind him to slow down during workouts and practices for fear that he would wear himself out for the matches. He was selected as the Eagles’ most dedicated wrestler three times.
Holscher competed all the way from 158 to 184 pounds, often sacrificing to help the team. He completed his career with a 92-58 record and earned All-American honors in 1997-98, when he placed seventh at 158 pounds at the National Tournament. He also qualified for nationals in 1996 and 2000.
He also was an excellent student who was a two-time wrestling all-academic selection and a member of Blue Key. His siblings, Jolene, Blake and Ben, also graduated from CSC.
He is a project manager for a concrete shoring company in the Denver area. He and his wife Emese have two children: Rade and Reka.
In 2014, Holscher competed in the Race Across America Powered by Trane, also known as RAAM, to promote tissue and organ donations. The race began June 10 in Oceanside, California, and ended in Annapolis, Maryland, on June 22. He finished as the third-ranked American in the race and is one of only 288 to complete the race in its 33-year history. He also is one of the few to finish the coast-to-coast ride on the first attempt.
