Chadron State College Athletic Hall of Fame
Janelle Hutt Uehling, a 6-foot-3 post player and native of Grant, Nebraska, was in the regular rotation all four years for the Chadron State College women’s basketball team. She shot 50.4 percent from the field and scored 1,100 points, grabbed
580 rebounds and blocked 114 shots during her career.
She had a particularly strong senior season, when she averaged 12.5 points and 5.4 rebounds, and was named to the Nebraska NCAA Division II All-Star Team and was placed on the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference’s Second Team.
The Eagles won 20 games her junior season and 19 her senior year. The team had great balance with classmates Melissa Burke,
Braidi Hladky and Roxi Hoegerl also four-year regulars. There were eight seniors on the 2000-01 team.
A few weeks after her basketball career ended, Hutt gave a classical piano recital at Chadron State. After earning a degree in business and economics, she has worked for the North Platte Public Schools much of her career. She and her husband, Gregg, have three children, Carson, Addison and Tyson.
