Chadron State College Athletic Hall of Fame
Schmaderer was a freshman on the Eagles’ undefeated football team in 1958 and was the team captain as a senior in 1961. After earning second-team all-conference honors as a junior, he was a first-team defensive back and led the Eagles in rushing with a 5.7-yard average his senior year. He also was the Student Senate vice president and was elected to Who’s Who Among American University and College Students.
After teaching and coaching one year, he became a certified physical therapist, but returned to his hometown of Stuart to become a banker 1967. He served as president of the Tri-County Bank for nearly 30 years and is still chairman of the board. He also is president of the community foundation and has been involved in many activities in north-central Nebraska.
