Jeremy Wissing, a native of Grand Island, Nebraska, and a four-year starter for the Chadron State College men’s basketball team, had a stellar career for the Eagles.

He scored 1,532 points, tying him for sixth on the Chadron State career list. He is the all-time leader for career 3-pointers with 245 while shooting 37.9 percent from behind the arc. He was the Eagles’ second leading scorer as a freshman and led them in scoring each of the final three seasons.

Wissing, who played at CSC with his twin brother Jay, was tabbed the RMAC’s Freshman of the Year in 2000-01 after averaging 13.2 points per game and sinking a career-high 43 percent of his 3-point shots. He was placed on the RMAC East’s second-team as both a sophomore when he averaged a career-high 16.1 points and a junior. He was honorable mention his final season and he also was named to the conference’s allacademic team three years.

For his career, he averaged 14.6 points per game and hauled in 4.1 rebounds. His career shooting percentage was 43.4.

As of 2019, Wissing owns a roofing business in Durango, Colorado. He and his wife Lily have two sons, Pierce and Rylan.
