Turman was a four-year starter at safety for the Eagles.   During his career, he participated in 319 tackles, including 234 that were unassisted, intercepted 20 passes that he returned for 299 yards and five touchdowns and broke up 29 more passes. Ryan received first-team Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference and Nebraska NCAA Division II honors each of his final three seasons. He also was a first-team all-West Region and second-team Daktronics and Football Gazette All-American as a junior and played in the Snow Bowl, a Division II all-star game, following his senior season. He was chosen the Eagles’ Most Valuable Defensive Player as both a junior and a senior. Ryan owns a construction company in his hometown of Hay Springs. He also is the town’s fire chief, and has been an assistant coach or head coach of the Hawks’ football team 10 years. He and his wife Anna have three children.
