During Clarke’s four years on the gridiron, he caught 168 passes for 2,673 yards and 15 TDs. His career receptions total is third on Chadron State’s all-time list and his yardage total is second.
He capped his career with a great senior season in 1999, when he grabbed 48 passes for 746 yards and six TDs. His 83-yard reception that season went for the Eagles’ only touchdown during a 10-6 victory over Western State. He also scored on an 80-yard pass play against Fort Hays State that year and had eight receptions for 138 yards during a 27-23 win over Nebraska-Kearney as a junior. As a redshirt freshman in 1996, he caught five passes for 124 yards against Central Oklahoma in CSC’s first Division II playoff game.
After his senior season, Clarke received All-RMAC, All-Nebraska and All-West Region honors as well as First Team All-American from Daktronics and Football Gazette. In 2014, he was placed on Chadron State’s All-Century Football Team.
He is a certified public accountant in his hometown of Alliance and has helped coach the Alliance High football team each year since 2000. He and his wife Manda have four children.
