Chadron State College Athletic Hall of Fame
Robbie Klinetobe is one of the three offensive linemen going into the Hall of Fame who blocked for Danny Woodhead the first three years of his spectacular career with the Eagles. During their senior season in 2006, Woodhead ran for 2,756 yards, still the all-time college football record.Â
A native of Battle Creek, Nebraska, Klinetobe played right guard at 6-2, 280 pounds. He ran well and the coaches said he gave great effort on every play to go with his phenomenal strength, which included a 475-pound bench press and a 518-pound squat. Besides being All-Conference, All-Nebraska and All-Region as a senior, Klinetobe was an Associated Press, Football Gazette and Daktronics D2 Football.com First-Team All-American. He was also first runner-up for the Gene Upshaw D-II Outstanding Lineman Award that season and was placed on the Eagles’ All-Century Team that was chosen in 2014.
Robbie had a great high school career in Wrestling and Football, going undefeated and winning the Class C state heavyweight championship as a senior, earning Class C-2 all-state and playing in the Shrine Bowl in football. Â He and his wife Sonja live in Casper, Wyoming where he is an operations specialist for Tall Grass Energy, a natural gas firm.
